Our company history

How it all began…

The company was founded by Siegfried Günther in 2004. Motivated by his previous work at Machine-Support, Siegfried wanted to bring his own philosophy and technical expertise to something new. He has been working on the subject of general plant geometry since 1994. Over the years, his interest grew, always driven by his passion for mechanical engineering, to optimize processes in this area and to provide the end customer with a solution and not just a measurement protocol of a measuring device. Siegfried laid the foundation stone with the founding of Propulsion Engineering. Over the years, the company has developed from a measurement service provider to a supplier of turnkey solutions for plant geometry and vibration analysis.

Today, Propulsion Engineering offers its portfolio worldwide in all shipping sectors. Whether a mega yacht, container ship, cruise ship, oil tanker, naval vessel or a harbor launch in Hamburg, the team of engineers led by owners Oliver Matzeit and Daniel Hinz is always highly motivated to localize the system problem and get the ship back into operation as quickly as possible. Today, in 2024, we proudly look back on 20 years of company history and look forward to an exciting and challenging future together with our customers worldwide.
